01
Context
Wipro's legacy intranet buried what people needed most under nested menus and duplicated widgets. Engagement was flat and adoption of internal tools was fragmented across regions.
02
The problem
Redesign the global employee experience so any Wiproite — engineer, HR, leadership — can find what they need in under 3 clicks, from any region.
03
Approach
- Ran a heuristic audit and stakeholder interviews across HR, IT and comms to unpack the widget sprawl.
- Rebuilt information architecture around 5 core intents; validated with tree-testing before pixels.
- Designed a modular widget system with clear ownership rules so content teams can ship without a designer.
- Shipped a phased rollout with in-product usability tests to catch regressions before global launch.
04
How the experience improved for users and the business.
User value
- Employees find HR, IT and learning content in a fraction of the clicks.
- Regional teams get a consistent hub without losing local context.
- Leadership comms actually get read — hero placement + push signals.
Business value
- Reached 250K+ employees across 60+ countries on a single platform.
- Reduced duplicated intranet properties maintained by 40%.
- Lifted weekly active use meaningfully vs. the legacy portal.
