Context
IP clearance touched engineering, legal and business — but the existing tool forced everyone through the same 40-field form. Requests stalled for weeks and legal became the bottleneck.

Redesign the end-to-end IP clearance flow to reduce request time, cut back-and-forth with legal, and give leadership visibility into what's in the pipeline.

- Shadowed 8 engineers and 3 legal reviewers to map every state a request can be in.
- Split the monolithic form into role-based tracks with progressive disclosure.
- Designed a review dashboard that surfaces blocked requests and estimated turnaround.
- Ran 5 rounds of usability testing with engineers, legal and business owners before ship.
